Calaveras School is an extraordinary learning community. We have an active Parent Club and a strong commitment to the community of Hollister and San Benito County. We provide a rich learning environment that develops high achieving students and intelligent, caring people.

Calaveras School serves nearly 500 students through ten grade spans from transitional kinder to 8th grade. Every classroom is equipped with state of the art technology including flat screen TVs, audio-systems, 1 to 1 Chromebooks, and software programs designed to bolster academic achievement. We have a middle school athletics program and collaborate with the San Benito Arts Council and El Teatro Campesino to bring in artists and the arts to our students. We are implementing a Positive Behavior Intervention and Support System and AVID.

The entire Hollister School District is implementing Capturing Kids Hearts (CKH). CKH is a national program that helps staff and students build a school culture that is relational and tends to the social-emotional needs of students and educators, it’s proven that campuses, districts, and entire communities can be transformed. Kids want to be in classrooms where teachers know how to connect with them and make them feel valued. When teachers can create a relational connection to students, or in Flippen Group terms, “Capture Kids’ Hearts,” performance goes way up, and behaviors greatly improve because kids want to be in school.
